96 Cubic Meters Waste Cleaned From Manggarai Floodgate

96 cubic meters of waste has been transported by Jakarta Environment (LH) Dept.'s Water Cleanliness Unit from Manggarai Floodgate on Jl. Tambak, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta LH Dept.'s Water Cleanliness Unit Head, Junjungan Sihombing mentioned, his side started to clean floodgate from 5 AM to 11 AM. Later on, collected waste is transported to temporary landfill located on Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan, Pulogadung, East Jakarta.
"We use truck with 12 cubic meters capacity to transport the waste. Until now, truck has transported it for eight round-trips," he conveyed, Monday (6/25).
LH Dept. Has Cleaned Ciliwung River Flow From TrashHe explained, water volume in Ciliwung River is increased and causing the large number of waste drifted to Manggarai Floodgate such as tree trunk, styrofoam, plastic, and household waste.
"We are still anticipating increase in waste volume. Two excavators are standby on Manggarai Floodgate. But we will add more if there are more waste," he affirmed.
He added, his side has transported waste in 35 small trucks and 15 large trucks on Sunday (6/24).
"We want river flow to be free from waste. While we will continue to handle it," he said.
